Good idea but consider cloning out instrument at right shoulder, highlight on page is a little burned out

John Bull LRPS

Consider cropping out some of the "dead area" maybe to base of pillars. Illustrates place and theme well.

At first glance lovely image but on my screen nothing is sharp. It needs to be. Consider cropping tighter and losing 3 right candles at top and 1 left at base. If this had been sharp it would possibly have won

Typical shot, photographer has brought little to the game. Desperately needs a sky.

Too much water, if it is a shot of the reflection of tree, consider portrait mode

Stella Change

Technically very good, could lose trace of green right at top of image it is distracting. There is always an issue of photographing some else's creation

Technically O.K. but the author has missed the real photograph. Too much foreground, not enough wall

Competent image but is the building vertical. Do you need to see house on left, Could do with more detail in sky

Never guess when judging but this looks unnatural, the shadows do not look right, Impression is that this has been manipulated. My apologies if I am wrong.

Competent, the inclusion of the parasols and people add a sense of place and time, probably best of cathedral shots.

Entry No 11 - "3rd place"

Jeff Smith - 3rd place

Well that is different, Could "lose the cars" especially the blue, and perhaps there is too many buildings behind cathedral. However super image well deserving of 3rd place

At last a reasonable sky, but the composition is not as good as Image 10.

Why this particular crop? If tower is to be in photograph, we surely need to see all of it. There is an interesting shot using lamp and shadow.

An interesting idea, however the photograph is cluttered without a real centre of interest.

I find it hard to understand this image, while I am sure it pleases the author, it is not interesting to me. Whatever else there needs to be detail in sky

John Nockolds

Why this particular image? If it is a picture of the boot it is too small' if it includes boot.... A thought would have been to put boot on yellow lines and photograph solely that

Another interesting idea which doesn't quite come off. What is it the author is trying to say?

Entry No 18 - "1st place"

Michael Myers - First place

Fine composition, well executed. Made by the faces in the doorways, Good control of exposure, it must have been difficult to prevent windows burning out. Well done 1st place

Entry No 19 - "Best of Rest"

John Barrett LRPS - Best of Rest

Technically superb, wonderful control of depth of field. The very close crop at the top of the image weakens the overall effect. Best of rest.

Interestingly this is done to death, and one needs to think more about it, to bring something new to the image. Technically fine but...

Another pleasing image, but a tighter crop would have given more impact

Entry No 22 - 2nd place

A super image, technically very good. I would like to have seen the top corners of the panel to give it space, however 2nd place.
